Reading checks and voice

Understand reading feedback

Look for useful practice, not a perfect score.

Feedback describes the recording from that attempt. Word marks and scores can help you find a word to try again.

The speech tool can make mistakes. Background sound, a quiet voice, an accent, or the microphone can change a result.

Pick one or two words to practice calmly. Let your reader hear the word, try it, then read the sentence again.

Do not use one result to decide your child's reading level. If a score seems wrong, you can report the book, page, and word without sending child audio.
