Reading checks and voice
Can my child read without the microphone?
Books and word audio can be used without recording a voice.
Your child can open books, turn pages, and use word audio without making a voice recording.
Reading checks and some guided activities need a microphone. If you decline access, those voice features will not work. A whole guided lesson may include a required voice step.
For story answers, use typing when that option is shown. It does not require speech recognition.
You can change microphone access in the browser's site settings. Contact support if you need help finding practice that fits your child's needs.
